LORD JESUS CHRIST

Image
Jesus is the Son of God; who brought salvation to humanity through his death and resurrection. Jesus also known as Jesus of Nazareth, is the central figure of Christianity. He is commonly referred to as Jesus Christ, where "Christ" is a title derived from the Greek christós, meaning the "Anointed One", which corresponds to the Hebrew-derived "Messiah". The name " Jesus " is an Anglicization of the Greek Iesous, itself believed to be a transliteration of the Hebrew Yehoshua or Aramaic Yeshua, meaning "YHWH is salvation". The main sources of information regarding Jesus ' life and teachings are the four canonical Gospels of the New Testament: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Most scholars in the fields of history and biblical studies agree that Jesus was a Jewish teacher from Galilee, who was regarded as a healer, was baptized by John the Baptist, and was crucified in Jerusalem on orders of the Roman Governor Pontius Pilate under t...

We drink it, cook with it and clean with it. But can we preserve it?

75 percent of the Earth's surface is covered by water, but only .1% of it is drinkable. Countless organisms depend on it to survive, including humans. Mushrooming urban populations, inefficient water use, pollution and a variety of other factors have permanently affected marine life and human life on the planet. Did you know that: • 20 percent of endangered freshwater fish are endangered or extinct? • Over 1 billion people don't have access to clean drinking water? • 70 percent of potable water is used for agriculture? • 22 years from now, half the world's population will be "water stressed?" The good news: international governing bodies like the United Nations and the World Bank have started implementing new policies to sustain the environment and conserve water. Countries are realizing that water is an important shared resource. And individuals are taking actions in their everyday lives to conserve water, because more for us means less for someone else

Christmas Poems

Image
Christmas is a holiday for friends, However they may be, or not, related. Remember that the three wise kings were strangers In search of one remote, uncanny dream. So may we all be far more than we seem, Together bound for dark and haunting changes, More lovely for the loves we have created Along the lonely paths from means to ends, Stumbling towards that star of Bethlehem Christmas is a time of little time. How we get there is a mystery. Racing madly mall-to-mall, we climb Into fields of sunlit harmony. Shopping, cooking, clearing walks and yards, Trimming house and tree while working, too; Making phone calls, wrapping, writing cards, As all worn out we do what we must do So that this day of joy might joy renew Christmas really isn't about toys, However much we love them, young and old. Reductions in the fat of Christmas day In time restore its vigor and its health. So let us not display our absent wealth, Though children should have ample chance to play. More sweet and joyous mu...

LIFE

Life is the characteristic state of organisms and individual cells. Properties common to the known organisms found on Earth (plants, animals, fungi, protists, archaea and bacteria) are that they are carbon-and-water-based, are cellular with complex organization, undergo metabolism, possess a capacity to grow, respond to stimuli, reproduce and, through natural selection, adapt in succeeding generations. An entity with the above properties is considered to be an organism. However, not every definition of life considers all of these properties to be essential. For example, the capacity for descent with modification is often taken as the only essential property of life. This definition notably includes viruses, which do not qualify under narrower definitions as they are acellular and do not metabolise. Broader definitions of life may also include theoretical non-carbon-based life and other alternative biology. Although it cannot be pinpointed exactly, evidence suggests that life on Eart...

Air Pollution

Today, air pollution has become a distressing reality in most parts of the world. Air pollution is a chemical, physical (e.g. particulate matter), or biological agent that modifies the natural characteristics of the atmosphere. The atmosphere is a complex, dynamic natural gaseous system that is essential to support life on planet earth. Stratospheric ozone depletion due to air pollution has long been recognized as a threat to human health as well as to the earth's ecosystems. There are almost as many types of air pollution as there are potential solutions. No matter what type of air purification system you're looking for, you should know that there is not one product on the market today that can solve every problem. Plants and trees, nature’s natural mechanism to purify the air that we breathe, have been successfully doing the job of air-purification for us for the last thousands of years. Our symbiotic relationship with them ensures that they cleanse our air of carbon dioxide...

Your Best Offer Is Your Best Bet

Your best offer is your best bet. If you are looking to hire the best, then be prepared to pay for it. The recruitment chain of events begins with the Hiring Company. If the first offer is not the highest and most respectable, then everyone's time, resources and manpower are wasted. There is the growing trend for Hiring Companies to insist in offering only the minimal employment package. This bargaining attitude towards human resource needs to change, as this practice has never proven effective. Excessive negotiations become lengthy and unnecessary resources are expended. The most efficient hiring process begins with your best employment offer. Qualified candidates are attracted from the start, and the negotiation process will be kept to the minimum. Investment by the hiring company may initially be higher, although this approach far outweighs the wasted resources associated with the bargaining alternative. Companies are seeking candidates that are educated, experienced and alr...
