Don’t Let Go Of Your Past

She had arrived here almost 30 days ago. After completion of her studies back in her town, with lots of hopes of further life here in this city, a girl just in her early twenties, very positive and optimistic about her life, turned to despair and hopelessness.Fed up of her life, the same surroundings, same errands and the never-changing boring days out there, this girl decided to take a major step within her, to prove she is not a failure, and ultimately got herself here! Eventually life here excited her. The busy lives, scheduled time and breathless routine fascinated her and she got herself into it. The hurry and haste in everything used to amaze her and she thought: “Wow! Life should be like this! Not a moment to think about oneself or about useless stuff and musings. Only haste and hurry, that’s the essence of life “.Time passes on and its cruel hammer does not miss anybody.
The smallest creature has to survive the bitterest experience if it has to make its own way. Life was not the same as it appeared to her. Gradually, this superficial judgment began to fade and the hardest reality approached nearer. People with smiles and laughter on their faces seemed no more than strangers wearing masks hiding their bitter realities. The hurry and haste now began to show itself as the hurry and haste to conceal one’s identity, the fear of being known as an empty person. People were lacking what she searched inside them. She could not keep harmony with the pace at which everyone was heading. And as predicted earlier, she remained far behind, helpless in her own world. Frustrated, battered and shattered, a loner within herself, she realized she was not meant for the race. This haste was neither her cup of tea nor was she made to accompany it.
Later on, after several hours of brooding over the issue, she remembered something serenely pleasing and suddenly her desperate mood turned nostalgic. It was at this moment, for the first time in her life, she valued the truth of something, the bonds that everybody calls relationships. Her parents, brother, friends, the neighborhoods, surroundings, country, town, how much they all meant to her. Nothing could have given her more than what she had received from all these. And ever since, she has treasured her identity, roots, friendships, family and relationships. Value the things one already has, before it is too late.
