The World’s Most Expensive Monopoly Game
The 18-karat gold version of the famous Parker Brothers board game is on display at the Museum of American Finance. The gold and jewel-encrusted Monopoly is estimated to be worth roughly $2 million.

The set of dice alone is valued at $10,000, with 42 full-cut diamonds for the number dots. All of the properties that make up the game board are also set in gems, with some 165 gemstones in total.

The notion of creating a blinged-out version of the board game came about in 1988, when San Francisco jeweler Sidney Mobell heard about a Monopoly tournament taking place in London. He called Parker Brothers (now part of Hasbro Inc.) for permission and then set to work creating the golden game, working every day for a year straight.

The Monopoly board will be on display at the Museum of American Finance for two years, on loan from the Smithsonian. It is one of 19 works donated by Mobell in January 2003 in honor of his late wife.

After the ceremony, both human and dog guests were treated to an over-the-top buffet of lavish chocolate fountains, cupcakes, fresh fruit, mini doughnuts and fudge.

Imagine savoring malt that has been aging for 105 good years! Online retailers and independent bottlers from UK Master of Malt have launched what is said to be the oldest and the most expensive bottle of Scotch whisky which came to light 8 months ago thanks to a Scottish historian Allie Sisell. The bottle was first distilled on the 17th February 1906 at the Aisla T’Orten distiller; the cask somehow survived a gutting fire.

The cask contains Sherry Butt with an outturn of just one bottle; the cask was sold to Master of Malt by Sisell for an undisclosed amount. This bottle of malt is priced at £870,000 ( US$1,405,400 ).

Cannot Open Google or Gmail in Chrome? Try this fix

Ever since I upgraded to the latest version of Google Chrome, I keep getting “socket” errors when trying to open Google, Gmail or any other website under the google.com domain. This isn’t as issue with my Internet connection as I can easily access the Google websites from IE and Firefox but they simply refuse to load inside Chrome with the following error: Error 15 (net::ERR_SOCKET_NOT_CONNECTED): Unknown error. It turns out that this is a  known issue  in Google Chrome and has also been experienced by dozens of Google users on Twitter. Fix Socket Errors in Google Chrome While we wait for the Chrome team to fix the issue, the irony is that it only seems to affect Google websites, there’s one simple step you can perform to get rid of the socket errors without having to restart the computer.
